Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much does it cost to publish with Saja Publishing?

  • A: Publishing with Saja is 100% free to the authors that we sign. We do offer fee-based services for writers who simply need a handful of publication services. SAJA’s manuscript review process is highly selective, which allows us to invest heavily in manuscript projects that we believe in. Our goal is to help new and veteran writers move successfully into print. SAJA is most interested in the commercial viability of your book on the open market, not your money. We see a return on our investment only when YOU are successful.

  • How long does it take to produce a book?

  • A: The length of time required to produce a quality book varies from manuscript to manuscript, but the short answer is roughly three to four months. Books that require substantial editing and many rounds of design corrections and proofing may take longer to complete.

  • Do I need an agent to publish with Saja?

  • A: No. We accept manuscripts with or without agent representation.

  • Do you offer book advances?

  • A: SAJA Publishing offers author royalties based on the net amount received from sales of the author’s book. Our royalty rates are 10- 20 percent of the net income received from the book sale on a sliding scale. This allows authors to share in the commercial success of their book venture. Please contact us for a manuscript review. In exceptional circumstances, Saja Publishing offers advances against royalties to authors. The amount advanced will vary based on the author and nature of his/her work. Contracted amounts will always be listed in the author-publisher agreement signed at the time of manuscript approval.

  • Who retains the copyright to my work?

  • A: You! Authors remain the rightful copyright holders of all work published through SAJA Publishing. When you sign with SAJA, you grant SAJA Publishing Company exclusive rights to print, publish and make your book available in print or electronic book form for three years.
